Our aims

Capital Alternatives is one of the UK’s leading promoters of non-traditional investments such as equities, bonds and cash. We are constantly striving to bring to the market place offerings which are normally only in the domain of institutions or the very wealthy. Our investments are tangible and direct, ranging from commercial property to rainforest.

Apart from their obvious appeal derived by out-performance of more traditional sectors they are also considered to be ideal investments for portfolio diversification – characteristically they offer low correlation to stocks and shares.

Whilst the term ‘Alternative Investment’ can encompass hedge funds, derivatives and futures, Capital Alternatives is committed to the provision of simple-to-understand tangible assets – all our offers seen on the pages of this site can be delivered or visited.

Why Alternatives?

This is a fast growing niche in the investment market. Many alternative investments are in ‘must have’ sectors not commonly available to the general public. Our experience shows that investors have an appetite for assets they own outright and are able to manage themselves, particularly in light of past performance by more traditional assets over the last decade or more. These tangible assets take many forms including stamps, gold, property, fine wine, agricultural land and forestry.

There is no counter-party risk; if the product provider enters liquidation the asset stays intact. This security and historic returns make these assets very attractive. During the recession many investors turned to agricultural land and gold as a safe haven. Investors have a real appetite for this market and for independent financial advisers, they provide the sort of diversification that you should offer your clients.

Capital Alternatives’ innovative range of products has proved very attractive to our own client base – there is no reason why this success should not be shared by you.

Regulation.

By working with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) the structure of our products ensure that they do not fall within the regulated sector, and are not subject to crippling regulatory costs and charges. We are therefore able to pass on greater margins to introducers. Investors have to be aware however these are non-regulated investments, they are not afforded protection under the FSCS.

IMPORTANT: Regulated advisers such as IFAs should be aware that these investments are not deemed collective investments (UCIS) and therefore do not fall under the marketing of unregulated collective investment schemes regime of the Financial Services and Marketing Act 2000.
